Why wick trimming is the new black....

Why wick trimming is the new black....

It is isn't it? I mean, caring for products to get the best value from them. Sigh. I know its BORING. Most of us (my hand is up here, I'm not brow beating anyone) don't trim our wicks and burn the candles over the recommended time frame (it's 4 hours for those who didn't know). It's life, we're busy, we're multitaskers, we need to do all the things, all at once. I get it. I am standing right with you.  BUT, if you take a few steps, and add these to your rituals of lighting candles and making a cup of...

The Little Things - September

The Little Things - September

September was a crazy, crazy month. It always is, I find. Must have something to do with hibernation and wind. We stepped out from under the grey clouds of winter expecting to find warmer weather and longer days. Unfortunately the change of season hasn't been as quick as we hoped (it's not just me is it?!). Wind, cold temperatures and lighting the fire still occurred in our household this month, which was a great way to hold onto the last breaths of the cold weather. Mostly this month I made candles. Lots of candles.    TLFC hit a huge milestone this month. August was all about...

The Little Things - August

The Little Things - August

Wow. What a month. It's been COLD and we've all been horribly ill. Thankfully the trees and flowers are blossoming and Spring is on the horizon. We have a new candle scent and have tried on many attempts to beat those winter blues.    Heading out early in the winter sun with Max to introduce him to the Geese and their gaggle (it's gaggle isn't it?!)     August arrived and with it so did the wind. On several occasions in-between the wind gusts I raided some local wattle trees.    For good reason. Our newest scent to the TLFC family is Golden...

Collaboration with The Planner Academy

From time to time, someone reaches out to me with an idea. An event that needs something extra. Something special for those attending, a keepsake.  Personally, I love the idea of tea light favours. Aesthetically on point, value of product (9 hours burn time from one jumbo tea light, I mean come on, how many baths can you have to fill 9 hours?! someone test that and get back to me) of course, but there are deeper workings of scent.  Smells ring bells. Scent is the closest sense linked to memory unlike sight or sound. Off the beaten track a...

Happy Birthday To Me!

This month, August, marks 5 years leading a creative making hustle. It wasn't always a business, I was side hustling for 2 years before I decided it was time to give up the 9 to 5 and either make or break my creative dreams. But all in all, 5 years of doing something I love, creating.  To congratulate myself, unfortunately, I've given up alcohol for the month (have I got the smarts or have I got the smarts?!) but to say thank YOU for all your support, love, purchases, positive feedback and fan girl or boy-ing over that time. I'm...
